First attempt to dye with Wilton’s

I got for a few days ago my packet from my dear secret pal Allena in US, where she send me here handspun skein and a lot of food dyes, jippi.

So here is my first attempt with Wilton’s Delphinium ice dye, it is in fact just one color. But somehow the colors split, and this is very typical for Wilton’s icing colors.

Wilton’s is very different to work with then KoolAid, yes it is that the colors can split. But also that it takes up the dyes so quickly, it is therefore I have stronger colors in the part who went in first the tops are Blue Faced Leicester.

I am so exicted and cant wait to the top are dry and I can begin to spin with it

From what I can read on Cacas website, it seems that they are selling Wilton’s Icing Dyes. But look after the label to Wilton’s, I bought a glas bottle in a store when I ask about Wilton’s. And did’nt think so much that it was written Cacas on the labels, I could’nt use the food colors at all. All color bleed out, well of that little who took color.

Another question is the price, if you rely will dye with Wilton’s you should buy them overseas. The box with 1 oz cost there kr 9.5 og hos Cacas kr 55,-

New information about Cacas selling org. Wilton’s. They doe, I have talked to one of there sellers and look for myself that it is the correct org. Wilton’s Ice dye color. Case closed.

Spinning swap and more.

Last year I sign up to Spin to Knit secret swap. The rules is that I got a secret pal who is sending me a handspun skein with a least 60 yards and I have secret pal I am sending to. We all have to have blog, and put out photos of the skein in the blog.
Bought my secret pals are from US, and I have got a very good friend in Allena who is my secret pal. Today I got the parcel from here, and wow all the goodies she has send me. I got to wonderful handdyed skein, a blend of merino/alpaca/kid mohair. And a lot of KoolAid and happy joy, Wilton’s ice dying colors. Gues who is going to spin up white yarn very fast. Here is also a photos of Charlie, when I got the wool from Merete breeder of Bearded Collie. Charlie tought it smell strange, unknown dogs? But now dogs, hi was a little bit confused ) and had to take a look into the food bag. Maybe it was a dog there?

Else I have got a lot of new client on my job, I have some very good results on healingmassage to dogs. Nothing is better then getting positiv feedback from the owner’s dog.
But typical enough I have also got seek, I don’t know why but every winter I get a touch of pneumonia. I normaly hold it under controll with nature medicin. But since I also have astma, it is not a good combination.
Lucky enough it seems that the dog understand that I am seek, so they seem satisfied to get a little walk on just 20 min. Normaly the try to take the long walk, when we take a trip on along the road. But today Charlie turned in to the little walk route, good lad.

I also have to finish spinning angora, since I have got a lot of large order. Hopefully I get finish tomorrow and can send it, if not it shall be send on monday.

Latest news.

I know it is a time since I have written in my blog, but it has been so much to doe. Saturday 17 was it open day at Hundehelsesenteret it was a lot of people who came, and the respons after has been very good.

Else the time is going to work, take the dogs out in the woods for walk. It has come snow in Bergen again, and it is so much salt in the road that the dogs are very quickly limping. So it is better for them to walk and run in the woods.

I am spinning a lot of angora wool, since I suddenly got a large order of angora yarn. So back to spinning

Charlie is taken everything cool

Hiya, I have got dogwool.

Today I got my first dogwool, it is from Bearded Collie that Merete at Kennel T-Bob breed.
Don’t it look yummie? Can’t wait to start spinning and it is so soft.

I hold my first information about my work as healing on dogs, at one of the social meeting at Blindeforbundet. Connie and Anne from AquaDog Bergen, and Benedicte Karhs who is a massage and homeopat to dog was also there. For my part it went alright but for some reason my head just got blank and I became nervous ( talk about irony, I have been speech for over hundres of delegates, well well). It was the first time I speech about doghealing, so maybe it was therefor I got nervous and went blank. But I hope that they got some positiv information about my work. I told stories from many of the good respons I have had from dogs I have had to healing. It was a lot of question, so it shall be intresting to see the respons later.

Test dyeing and a one more headband finish.

Since I wonder if naturaly wildgrey angora could be dyed, I just had to test dye. Well blue berry gave a nice color, but the grape well you can look at the photos yourself

This headband have I knitted from my own handspun yarn, the colors is tangerine and it is aussie merino. So soft and very good to knit with, about the pattern I like it. But it don’t remind me about pigtail pattern.

Finish with a headband in angora, very satisfied with the model. So this will be to sale in my webshop.

Wow, finish with a skein of australian merino.

I am beginning to spin thinner and thinner, and know I feel that I should not spin thinner. It is 442 meter (483 yards) pr. 100 gram, so if it getting thinner I need to ply 3 treads yarn instead of 2. But I have it fun

Oh, happy joy, my Gotland tops has arrived.

I am so happy, when I got message from the Post office that it was packet waiting for me. I crossed my fingers that it was the Gotland tops I had order from Jackie at Down in the Country. The first shipment dissapeard from US, so today I am so happy.

I am also spinning some of the aussie merino, so either I just begin on a new bobbin ore waith to I am finish with the merino. Hmm, wonder if I can control my self, to wait P

Just come home from a Mary Kay party, with my knitting friends. Always nice to meet the girls, it was not so long ago we meet up with the girls. In fact latest was on tuesday

I have also been planing Kelly’s hometrip, so I am flying over to Oslo – Gardemoen early tomorrow for picking here up.
