To the sales marked I got knitting help from Ina and Monika, here is some photos that they knitted from my handspun angora yarn.

This is a hat Monika has crochet from the hand dyed angora yarn, I did for a while ago.

and here is a a couple of wristlets that Ina knitted for me, I like this pattern very good and will knit more of them.

I have got cashmere, yiah :o))

This has been a crapy weekend and a happy weekend. The crapy part was the sales marked, it was very low sale. So either Bente ore me are going to attend to this marked next year.

But the happy part was that yesterday, Pippi the bitch puppy I own with Nina and Marius was on a puppy show. First I got a call that Pippe became Best in Show puppy, then later in the group finale she became 2. Best in Group. Guess who was a happy kennel mom 😛

Since Nina did not had camera with here, her is a older photos of here.

I also got to pick up my parcel from Wollknoll today, it arrived already on last Monday. But for some reason Tollpost Globe, did not give a note on my door. So for a week now the parcel has been stored there. Since I no know that the rutine is not good enough for letting me know if I am not home,  next time I will have the tracking number from Wollknoll and can follow where the parcel is in the system.

So here it is :p the mulberry and tussah silk is to Bente, I have still enough of the both of the silk types. But look, yummie 1 kg of merino 16 mic and 1 kg of cashmere.

Very long update.

Well, it is a good time since my last blogging, it has been so much to doe with both work and in the weekends.

There is so many photos in the posting, so they are show in thumbnail. Just click at them to see them larger, there you can also read the text.

So we begin with the latest news:

I have bought MBT sandals to use at work and free time, they are rely good to go with. Just need a time to get used to them, the first time I got dizzie.

Luckly enough this weekend I had totaly free and that was good, so it was a weekend with a lot of resting, tidy the house and more relaxing 🙂

Last thursday I took Ellie and Charlie with my to the Hundehelsesenteret, it was time for swimming traning. Poor Charlie had never swim before at all, so well I think Charlies’s expression talk for themself 😛

Wednesday it was time for knitting quild again, this time it was Cruzidull who was the hostess. For some reason the Bergenslady don’t want to have there photos on the blog. So here is some photos of the gorgous cat Cruzidull has, I don’t quite remember the correct breed name. But was something with Rex, and that coat was so soft and marvelous. Wish it could have been longer, then it would be wonderful to spin of 🙂 Cruzidull had also got a new digital camera earlier this summer, so I just had to take a photos of here.

Then last weekend Norwegian Angora had there annual summer gathering here in Bergen, I had class in food dyeing. The dyeing results was gorgoeus, I also carded up some of the tops I had dyed earliere. It was also very nice to meet people that I just had chat ore emailed with, hoping to join next years gathering also.

The whole gang, thank you guys for a great weekend 😛

Here is the tops I carded up, that I had dyed fora little while ago.

And here it is finish spin and Navahoe plyed:

I was going to post some photos from the NKK Trondheim dog show, Merete (kennel T-Bob), Anne and I went to. But when I checked the photo map, I had not prepped them yet. So I will put out a link here when I have made the show how trip report on my kennel webpage 🙂

Food dyes photo tutorial.

I know I have promised many that I should take photos from the beginning to the end, but have always forgot to take photos. Well, well but this time I remember to take photos during the dyeing process.

During the dying of the angora yarn, I decied to dye some of the Romney roving I got from Peggy also. But first things first, here is the angora yarn.

I first soak the yarn in a mixture of water and a glug of white vinegar, with angora yarn you need to let it be in the water for a longer time then other yarn to get soaking wet. It is 24 gram white angora yarn, lace weight.

Then I prepeare the dye bath, this time I was going to try the Wilton’s ice dyeing colours that Peggy send me. It is red, orange and yellow, the idea was to split the skein in 3 parts I used about 2 dl water no vinegare put in on this time.

Then the skein was split in 3 parts(could have been done better, little to much red part). Put in the microwave for 3 minutes, then rest in 3 minutes. Before going in for new 3 minutes I then added 1 table spoon of vinegear. This process I repeatet 3 times, but I so that I had used to much colours. So I therefore used the rest of the dyebath to some of the Romney roving, look further down on the blog. When you dye with this method it is important that after the first 3 minutes, you pull the yarn down from the cup on all 3 cups down in the dye path. If you don’t doe this it will come white parts in the yarn.

The yarn is rinsed carefully in water, remember either to doe it in the same temperature ore just let it be in the dye bath to the next day and then rinse. Hang up to dry :

And here it is finished:

Next, since I had so much in the dyebath left I just got a idea and did the same with some of the Romney roving I got from Peggy. This I did not put in to the microwave, I just put the Romney in to the hot dye bath and let it stand there to it was cold. And it was not pre wet before the dyebath.

Here it is finish and ready to spin with:

I was also going to try some of the easter egg dyes tablets, but I need to doe some test dyeing to find out what is the right colours and not what I think is violet :p So when it first got out of control I just pour in some KoolAid mix, put everthing into my jar, Romney roving 50 gram up and into the micro it got. Here it is about 2,5 dl vinegear and 5 dl water.

The roving is to rinse, wonder rely what colours this will be. It has different shade, of green, purple, brown, red:

And here is it is dried and finish to begin to spin with, but I have a pretty good feeling that when I have spin up this roving it will be overdyed. Well I can be surprised, I have been that before, but I don’t think I will be that this time. p6180086.jpg

My fiber swap packet arrived today.

For a while back I joined Fiber swap and today I got my packet, this is one of the most funny swap I have joined, why because my secret pal is Peggy. A spinner in Kentucky US, that I got to know thruee one of the yahoo spinner group. Can’t remember who of them, since I am member of more then one.

Peggy send me Romney, I have talked a lot of that I would like to try to spin Romney. Since there is so many that have talk so nice about the wool. There was also a gorgous hand dyed bombyx silk from Abby’s yarn, Burt’s Bee hand care kit, a initial it bookmark with my H on, beautiful crochet clothes and the most funny a Keychan Sock Blocker Sock that I for a long time had tought of buying and some Wilton’s ice dying.

For a while ago Peggy told me that she had bought Tofutsie sock yarn, that is made of 50% Superwash Wool, 25% SOYSILK brand fiber, 22.5% Cotton, 2.5% Chitin (made from shrimp and crab shells!) It was the Chitin that made me intrested, so I ask Peggy if she could buy a couple of skein to me. She has aslo been a angel and right after easter, she got to the shop to buy me easter egg dyes tablet think she was in more then one shop. And not that they sell lipgloss here home, but when I was in San Diego last autum Anita and I shoped Victoria Secret’s lip gloss Beauty Rush. That is one of the best lip gloss I have tried, gives a lot of moisture and have a discret gloss effect. Since I lost mine, and Victoria Secret doe ship to Norway but had a high shipping price I ask Peggy if she could help me.

So here is photos of the other items she have been traveling around in shop to get me, thank you so much Peggy.

It has also been very warm here in Bergen and the rest of the country, suddenly from about 15-18 degree we got very high temperature about 30 degree. So it was not so much done here, I had plans to get out the blood of the freezer to begin to train the kids again. But with this heat I have not had energy left, but yesterday the temperatur suddenly fall so no I have to begin the training again.
After the show I picked up Ellie that had been with my parents. She had also come in season and was almost finish, but Charlie tought she smell nice still so he tried a little flirt. The results, Ellie beat him up and he got a wond on his nose, but doe you think hi gave up after that? NO, but finaly he is getting a little bit more relax and last night I finaly could sleep the whole night.

Charlie with his wonded nose.

Charlie trying to flirt with Ellie, and look how she care 😛
I also got finish with the rest of the collie wool, and this skein was much darker:

The wool that is on my spinning wheel right no is angora yarn, that I am plying. Since I am spinning mostly lace and this is lace weight, it take so long time to ply it. But at least I got a lot of yarn when I am finish 😛

Juhuu, the birthday wool from Wollknoll are in the house :o)

Since the custom office had done something wrong with my letter of attorney, I had do send in a new on and typical it took 2 days more before the they where finish with the custom decleration.

So finaly today I got notice from the post office and rushed of to get the packet paid for and take it home.

Tada, it is 3 kg of Mulberry silk, 2 kg of Tussah silk, 1 kg of grey alpaca, 1 kg of australian merino white and 1 kg of australian grey merino. But relax, it is just 5 kg who is mine 😛

The quality is gorgoeus, I have found my favorit place to shop this type of wool and fiber 🙂

Here is a photos of my first bobbin with dog wool, it is from Collie and I have already plyed it together with Gotland that I bought from Jackie. It is no washed and are hanging to dry in the shower.

I am also finised with one bobbin of lace white angora yarn, but spinning lace weight take time and are honostly a little bit «boring». But here is a photo of the bobbin, the coin is a Norwegian 1 coin.

And of course we need to see some new puppie photos, agree? 😛

First time out in the garden.

Little playful girl.

Something intresting Mike and Charlie?

Surprice in the post.

For about a week ago I orded some more wool from Yarn&Tale in US. And for some reason I did not think that it could be the wool, when I got a notice slip from the post office. So when I got to the post office and I so what packets it was, I was so happy. The most gorgeous wool from Leah in Michigan had arrived, look at this gorgeous wool. When I open the packet the wool just pop out.

Here is from left; Naturaly white merino 50% / 50% tussah silk laps, in the midle Khaki 50%merino /50% tussah silk laps and the little white one to the right is a sample of white kid mohair/wool.
Some of this wool I will spin together with angora, that must just be yummie?

And some puppie photos most also be posted :oP
